This Wednesday July 3rd, Jacksonville Speedway will host its biggest event of the summer as ILMO Propane and the Illinois Corn Growers present the Wild Man Kelly Classic UMP Summer Nationals ‘Hell Tour’ paying $5,000 to the winner. Last year’s Summer Nationals race at Jacksonville was widely regarded as one of the best late model races of 2012 held anywhere and immediately was deemed and ‘instant classic’ by fans. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better and is again being promoted in conjunction with Track Enterprises.

The track is honoring one of the true legends of racing in West Central Illinois by naming the race in honor of the late ‘Wild Man’ Francis Kelly who raced and won for 43 years at tracks throughout the region. Kelly’s children and the Speedway have many fun activities planned for the night’s events. The winner of the late model event will receive a trophy measuring over 5 feet tall.

NASCAR star and TV personality Kenny Wallace will return to Jacksonville for the first time in many years Wednesday as the Illinois Corn Growers present the Kenny Wallace “Corn Ethanol Performs Tour”. Wallace will be driving his JEGS sponsored #36 modified as part of the $1,000 to win Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals which is also a part of the night’s action.

Both the Modifieds and Street Stocks will be participating in the track’s season long Double Down Bonus, which pays a double weekly winner’s payout to anyone that wins two events in a row at the Speedway. Steven Delonjay will be racing for $1,500 in Modifieds Wednesday and Justin Layne will be racing for $500 to win in Street Stocks.

With the race again falling on July 3rd and most people having a day off on the 4th, popular area musicians Jason Bassett and Gabe Marshall to play music under the grandstands after the races.
