The second half of the racing season begins at Jacksonville Speedway this Friday night with the track hosting the Brockway Mechanical Sprint Invaders, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets. The 360 ci Sprint Invaders bring a number of cars each year to Jacksonville and always put on a great show for the fans. Russ Hall and Ryan Jamison are separated by only 3 points in the season points with Chapin’s Paul Nienhiser currently in 4th after capturing two wins so far this season.
A special later starting time will be in effect this week to accommodate cars traveling a longer distance for this event. Hot laps will begin at 7:00 with racing at 7:30. Prior to the racing action WJVO will host the Texaco Country Showdown where fans can compete in a singing competition for a chance to move on to the next round of Nation’s largest country music talent search and a chance at the $100,000 grand prize.
Grandstand admission is $15 with children 12 and under free. Grandstands open at 5:00 with racing at 7:30.
