With a little cooperation from Mother Nature, Jacksonville Speedway will host our opening night of racing tonight.  On tap tonight will be Open Winged Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Hornets.  Pit Gates open at 4:45, Grandstands at 5:00, Hot Laps at 6:30 with Racing at 7:00.  Pill draw closes at 6:10 (call ahead for late arrivals) with Driver’s Meeting at 6:15.

We are aware of the threat of weather late today and into tonight, but it is our intention to race unless it actually starts raining at the track later – or if severe and dangerous weather is imminent.  The forecast calls for storms to be scattered and you never know what mother nature has in store, but with some luck we hope to find ourselves on her good side tonight.

You can sign up for email updates (including cancellation notifications) in the right column of our homepage.  We will also post any announcements on Twitter (jaxspeedway), on Stlracing.com (user jax-webguy) and 4m.net (user jax-webguy).  The track phone is 217-243-8200.

In the event of a cancellation, our rain out policy is as follows:

If the heat races have been completed, no rain checks will be issued.  If a rainout occurs prior to the completion of the heat races, a rain check will be issued which will be valid for admission at any subsequent regular program.  There will be no cash refunds.

Also note that next Friday’s race is a Sprint Invader special show with $15 grandstand admission.  Any general admission rain checks issued tonight can be used next week with an additional $3 charge – or rain checks will be fully valid the following week May 14.
