Everything is set for the return of the UMP Summer Natoinals Hell Tour to Jacksonville Speedway on Tuesday, July 3rd. With a tight points battle ongoing, the Jacksonville race will definitely have an impact on who walks away with the $25,000 Champion’s check. With just 10 races left after Tuesday, someone wanting to make a points move will need to be on his game at Jacksonville.
Also on the card is the Summit Modified Nationals paying $1,000 to win due to the great support of Modern Paving and Scrap of Springfield. NASCAR star Ken Schrader will make a return visit to Jacksonville after a long absence in his Federated Auto Parts modified.
The Street Stock class at Jacksonville is among the most competitive at the track, and they will round out the Summer Nationals card.
Grandstands open at 5:00. Hot Laps are at 6:00 with Qualifying at 6:45 and racing at 7:15. A skydiving team is expected to deliver the American flag during the National Anthem to help kick-off the 4th of July holiday. Grandstand tickets are $25 with children 12 and under $5. Pit passes are $35.
Traveling fans, drivers and crews are invited to join us for a pre-party outside of the Grandstand from 2-4 as Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard throws out the red carpet by grilling up some early grub. Beverages will be available to help you beat the afternoon heat.
Don’t forget we have a covered grandstand that faces East. The predicted high Tuesday is just 95 with a 14mph wind…. Hardly enough heat to even call it a Hell Tour… with a predicted low of 75. At some point at about 8:00 it’s going to turn into perfect racing weather with temps in the 80’s and a nice breeze.
We can’t wait to again host the Summer Nationals at Jacksonville. We hope you find a chance to pay us a visit for what will be a great night of racing.
