Jacksonville, Ill. (June 6, 2022) – Racing action returns to Jacksonville Speedway on Friday with the Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series gunning for the $3,000 top prize. Friday’s event is the 50th event in series history to be held at Jacksonville Speedway. UMP Modifieds, Midgets, Micros and UMP Stock Cars will also be in competition.

For 2022, all MOWA events held at Jacksonville will be “named races”, to memorialize families well-known in Sprint Car racing in the Central-Illinois area. The $3,000-to win event on Friday, June 10 is named, “The Northrop”. In recent years, the familiar #83 machine has seen drivers like Aaron Andruskevitch, Bret Tripplett strap in the cockpit. Now, Mediapolis, Iowa’s Colton Fisher can be found behind the wheel at various events driving for Rick Northrop.

The MOWA Sprints have completed two events in 2022, Highland Speedway on May 28, which saw Kameron Key of Warrensburg, Missouri pick up his first career MOWA win, and Tri-City Speedway last Friday where Jake Neuman found victory lane at the #CupTimeSTL Short Track Classic event.

UMP Modifieds make their first appearance of 2022 at Jacksonville this Friday, after rain canceled the first two nights of the season when they were expected to run.

The newly named MOWA Midgets are back on the ¼-mile on Friday along with the MOWA Micros. Hayden Reinbold, of Chandler, Arizona, won the Midget feature earlier in the season, besting the ten-car field to pick up his first career Jacksonville Speedway victory.

When the rain fell and canceled the remainder of our May 13 event, the POWRi Micros were in competition and did not get to complete their feature. This Friday, the MOWA Micros will tackle the ¼-mile bullring for some exciting action. Fans can expect drivers such as Aaron and Aarik Andruskevitch, Daryn Stark – and more to be here battling for the win.

Lastly, perhaps one of the most exciting classes to watch, the UMP Stock Cars are joining us for another great night of racing. Terry Reed of Cerro Gordo, Illinois, a multi-time feature winner in 2021 finished 2nd to Veedersburg, Indiana’s Zane Reitz on opening night, in a race that saw Pontiac, Illinois driver Tanner Sullivan lead until the halfway point. Sullivan’s night ended early with a DNF after losing his right-rear wheel at the top of turn two. Another driver to keep an eye on at Jacksonville is Rudy Zaragoza. Rudy is a favorite by many when he flies around the top side of the speedway, doing so in exciting fashion.

Fans who cannot be in attendance at Jacksonville Speedway can watch all events streamed exclusively through DIRTVision, the official streaming partner of Jacksonville Speedway. Fans can purchase a DIRTVision FAST PASS as either a monthly subscription for $39.99/month, or an annual subscription for $299.99/year.
